WHAT
IS THE CIC-CP?
Utilizing the key location of the Binghamton University
Downtown Center,
CIC2020 is acting as a liaison between the University and community through their
office in the new facility. In
collaboration with the Career
Development Center, the CIC2020 Directorate works with local employers to increase the number of available
internships. The group also meets
with local professionals who wish to act as mentors for BU students. Mentorships can provide opportunities beyond
traditional internships while contributing to students' career
interests. The goals for the CIC Career Partnership Initiative are to:
1) Provide students with a resource for mentorships in the Greater Binghamton region
2) Increase
local internship opportunities made available from CDC’s e-recruiting
3) Facilitate
new and interesting relationships between BU and area-wide industry
4) Assist
local organizations and businesses develop awareness on campus
5) Motivate BU students to
pursue experience-based education and career advancement
