The Pro-Seminar in Civic Entrepreneurship is a unique, upper-level, 4-credit, entrepreneurial course taught by CIC2020 Faculty Adviser Dr. Diane Crews and CIC2020′s student directors. An interdisciplinary course offered to a select group of students, it focuses on examining the role of both students and mid-sized universities in community and economic development based on forecasts of factors that will be necessary to create thriving communities in the 21st century. A crucial component and unique aspect of the course has been the exploration of various entities in the Greater Binghamton Area in different economic sectors and learning through direct engagement with civic and business leaders in the community. Undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Applications are being accepted until December 1, 2011. Please e-mail cic2020@gmail.com with any questions regarding the application process.
Join the CIC2020 Directorate
Made up of undergraduate and graduate students of various disciplines, the directors of CIC2020 are those spearheading the projects, administering the Pro-seminar in Civic Entrepreneurship, and making things happen. During each fall semester, they recruit students to become part of the Pro-seminar (which has been offered every spring semester since 2006). New directorate members are typically selected from the pool of Pro-seminar graduates. If you are interested in taking a leadership role and joining the Directorate, e-mail your interest to cic2020@gmail.com.
